We came together because California is building a certified non-clinical health workforce at unprecedented scale, and the placement and retention infrastructure that turns credentials into careers does not yet exist. HUMANDREAM Workforce Alliance was built to close that gap in partnership with the underserved and system-impacted youth and communities most affected by it.

Our consortium unites HUMANDREAM Workforce Alliance, Peer Voices United, community college partners, employers, and people with lived experience. HUMANDREAM Workforce Alliance delivers the Credential-to-Career pathway, building the fieldwork, employer partnerships, placement infrastructure, alumni network, and retention systems that carry Scholars from credential to career. Community colleges provide state-recognized credentials for Community Health Workers and Peer Support Specialists. Peer Voices United delivers the Wellness-to-Workforce pathway, training Peer Support Specialists across six specialty domains that reflect the realities of the communities we serve, including Justice-Involved Reentry, Restorative Justice, Hoarding Disorder Support, Native Community Peer Support, School-Based Gang and Drug Prevention, and Youth Gang Intervention. PVU also supplies community-based recruitment pipelines, lived-experience engagement, wellness supports, supervised service environments, and reentry programming through Road Home, Room for Hope, and Hands of Hope. 

Participants receive peer mentorship, workforce readiness, specialized training, credential opportunities, supervised field experience, paid transitional employment, placement support, and long-term career coaching.

We are helping build a workforce system where lived experience becomes expertise, wellness supports employment, colleges provide credentials, employers provide careers, technology measures results, and representative governance keeps the system accountable.
